House Hunting

As some of you know, Davis and I have been house hunting for about a month. Every weekend we spend a day with our wonderful Realtor, Jenny. We have been visiting a new neighborhood every weekend trying to get a feel for where we want to buy. We are going to be looking at the downtown properties this Sunday, but so far we have looked at Queen Anne, Magnolia, Ballard, Fremont, Wallingford, Green Lake, & West Seattle. I know that sounds like a lot, but it really is only about half of Seattle. Anyway, I have pictures of our 2 top picks. Not great pictures, but it will give you some idea while still keeping you guessing!

This is choice #1 as of now. It is a 4 bedroom town home overlooking Green Lake.

This is choice #2 as of now. It is a town home (maybe 2 bedroom) in West Seattle with this gorgeous view of the Olympics/Vashon Island.

It's too late to be awake

So I just finished my 2nd book for the week and since Davis will be home in less than 30 minutes I decided to blog to stay awake.

So the 1st book I read was Something Blue, it is the 2nd book in Emily Giffin's 3 book series: Something Borrowed, Something Blue, & Baby Proof. It was a great book, but so far I have loved everything I have read of hers. I read her newest one this summer, Love the One Your With, and it was terrific as well.

The 2nd book I read was The Choice by Nicholas Sparks and it was equally as good. It was shorter and a faster read. It was hard to put down which I guess is why it only took 3 days to read.

I guess I will need to make a trip to the library tomorrow!

I forgot to mention

The whole point in the last title "2 week count down" was we will be in Tennessee is 2 weeks from tomorrow!

Also, I forgot to mention that Gregory's birthday was Jan 17, last Saturday. So Happy Birthday Gregory!

Today is Dwayne's birthday so Happy Birthday Dwayne!

We hope that you both had terrific days!

2 week count down!

So this past weekend we went snowboarding and house hunting...pretty much what we do every weekend! I don't know what we are going to do when the season is over and we have bought a house...I guess we will have to find new things to do. This past week I took the last CPA test (hopefully) and afterwards Davis had made reservations at a Japanese restaurant to celebrate. Freddo, our friend from Michigan joined us and we split 4 bottles of sake. It was a great night and the food was delicious! Thanks Dave! He even had to skip out on Magic night, but don't worry he made up for it on Saturday!

Saturday morning we went to West Seattle to house hunt. West Seattle has some amazing views! It was a good day and we saw a lot of good stuff. Sunday was our boarding day. We are definitely getting better although Davis had an incredible wipe out which I did not get on video :(

Davis is gone this week to San Fran and I am job hunting!

Busy Bees

For some reason it is so hard to find time to update the blog as often as I would like. It is probably because Davis and I spend every free moment watching TV shows....we are ruining our minds and we love it! We have watched 1 1/2 seasons of 24 and all 4 seasons of Weeds in like a month...kinda ridiculous...maybe! We have done a bunch of other stuff as well.....

We have now been snowboarding twice and we did get season passes so we can go whenever we want. We love it and have so much fun going together. We are getting much better! We videoed each other this past weekend...I will post the videos soon!

We also have a new game that we like to play, Race for the Galaxy. It is a fun game and it's nice to be able to play games again. Thanks mom & Greg for sending us our games...we had company over this weekend to play Settlers.

I take the last part of my CPA next Wednesday.

Davis and I are training for the Seattle marathon in June. It is something I have always wanted to do...it has been a goal of mine to run the NY marathon so this is a trial run! Davis couldn't let me out do him so he is running it with me and I am thankful to have a competitive husband! We are doing well so far although the max run has only been 4 miles, but we did run 13 miles last week.

We went house shopping on Sunday with our realtor, Jenny, she is a sweetheart. Our plan in to meet with her weekly to explore all the neighborhoods and then pick one. We are hoping to have a place by June. This past weekend we did West of I-5/Ballard area.

Davis leaves tomorrow for Reno, but he will be back Thursday. He is traveling to San Fran next week. He always leaves me the week of my test so no one to celebrate with when I am done.

We can't wait to see everyone!

New Years with the Sickly

So I am pretty sure I can say that this was the worst New Year's I can remember. Our first New Year's spent in Seattle was spent in bed, by the toilet, or on the couch. About 10pm New Year's Eve night I started feeling bad. Ten minutes before midnight I was sitting in the floor with my head over the toilet vomiting. What a way to bring on a New Year! This continued throughout the night with chills and waking up every hour.

I think I contracted this little stomach bug from Vivian. She started vomiting Monday morning and I kept her on Tuesday. What's the fun in getting sick if you don't pass it on......Needless to say Davis started vomiting at 5pm yesterday. It was a rough day at our apartment! Beast is not a very good caretaker considering he can't open the refrigerator door. We managed to get through yesterday and so far today we feel much better.

On a better note....here are some pictures of our NEW TV and boarding at Snoqualmie

These poles came in the TV packaging & Davis wanted to keep them! (Here they are being used as swords)
