Dogs & Christmas

Davis' mom sent the dogs a package this week and since we will not be here on Christmas, they got to open it early. And boy did they love their new squeaky toys!!! This picture Beast has the new Santa and Belle is following in half her new outfit....they also got a snowman but for some reason they always want what the other has so they pretty much only play with one at a time!

Doggy Kindergarten

The dogs started school last week. Belle was attacked a while back at a park and has yet to get over it, so she growls at all dogs (and it's a bit embarrassing)....esp while running or hiking! She never gets tired enough to stop.

So we enrolled them both into basic obedience classes, Beast is actually a pretty good dog and knows most if not all of the basic commands, but we didn't want to leave him at home and we figured it would be good for him to have weekly interaction with other dogs so he goes to Kindergarten too :) This class lasts 6 weeks and then they will graduate to Intermediate (I am excited for this one to see what new tricks you can teach an old dog)!

I will try to take pictures next week of them in class.

A day at the Dog Park

Our dogs are completely different. Beast loves other dogs and does not care for people where as Belle loves people and pretty hates other dogs (besides Beast). It makes it hard to do anything because Belle hates dog parks and Beast hates stores/city noise BUT since Belle is a dog we have decided that she needs to learn to like other dogs so we try to socialize her as much as possible.....and by socializing her I mean this
Yes, this is how she acts at dog parks. She is always right beside one of us and if we stop walking she stands between our feet well mostly dad's feet!

On the other hand Beast completely ignores us!

This is Golden Gardens Park in Ballard. It is a beachfront park with a dog park, beautiful :)

this is Belle actually playing because we were the only ones in the "small dog" park
she loves her (well not really hers, we found it on our roof) ball

All About Belle

March 31st was Belle's 1st birthday, Happy Birthday Belle! Davis made her a cheese birthday cake that she thoroughly enjoyed, but almost choked as she tried to eat the entire thing in one bite. We sang Happy birthday and although she didn't get any presents because she has a million toys she also didn't get brushed - that was her present from me!

too much in her tiny mouth, so pulling it out and breaking it apart

In other Belle news, dog grooming in the city is soooo expensive so we decided that we would cut Belle ourselves and if it was terrible we would then take her to a groomers and they could fix her. Belle is a yorkie-poo so although she looks just like a yorkie, she has poodle fur and it mats very easily. We have gotten her semi-ok with brushing her but to keep her from matting she needs to be brushed daily which is something we don't do. So, we decided to cut her like a poodle, SHORT. We think she is still adorable, but we are bias.

Weekend Events

Every weekend we spend the majority of our time with our friends and love every minute of it and this weekend was no different. Friday night was Fajitas and game night at George's. As all game nights it was a blast. We started with Hoopla then Balderdash then Twister and then Apples to Apples. Needless to say we were out until 3 AM, which seems to be the case every weekend!

Saturday we took the dogs to the #8 dog park in North America, ran some errands, and had game night at our place. It was a more chill game night and we only played Mexican Train (dominoes).

Sunday we had a cookout at Farrah's and then we to the park to bask in the sun. We ended up playing volleyball without a net at the park and it was like we were 10 years old again :) Nisha was the only one that took pictures, maybe you will see them pop up on FB.

This week/weekend was also a very exciting week for our home, we designed the final plans for the wall bed and put in the order...in 3 short weeks our wall bed will be installed. We also finished our entertainment piece.

Have I Shown You Our View

For those of you that watch How I Met Your Mother, I feel like Barney saying "Have you met Ted?" BUT our view is just so incredible that I feel everyone needs a refresher every once in a while. By the way, can you tell that we love our place?!? Even the dogs love it, they get to play on the roof and patio.

I finished our orangey-red pillows yesterday

I also wanted to share some pictures of laundry day at the Benson household look like.
