Now that I have updated you with some pictures, I will proceed to tell you what's been going on in our life....

Happy birthday to Gregory, Tammy, Dwayne, and Tyler! We love you all and miss you very much!

We lost my sweet sweet grandmother last weekend. Fortunately for her and us, she was 91 and lived a wonderful life. Unfortunately, this does not heal the heart. She was an amazing woman! I will miss hearing her compliments and stories. Davis, you have big shoes to feel on making me feel important ;) I was able to spend an entire day with my Dad, which doesn't happen often enough. I enjoyed that day and will never forget it!

In other news, my new job is going great. I have been on the road since starting on January 2nd. It appears I will be in Seattle next week, it only took 7 weeks!
I have been to Detroit, Chicago, Columbus, Orange County, and Austin. Davis and I extended our time in Austin and explored the city. We had a blast and soaked up as much Vitamin D as possible! I bought my first 'new' pair of cowboy boots and I love them! I am glad I waited to do it in Austin and in person (not online). It was a Wal-mart of boots, overwhelming a bit...yes!

The pictures posted were from my phone and I am sure I have more on my camera so I will update again soon.

Valentine's Day is next week, what are your plans? Davis will be in Florida so I am without a hubby :(

Happy New Year!

It's 2012! This is a year of change for me and Davis. I am changing jobs...going to work for Davis, this means we will see each other a lot more! We will be on the road more and at home less. We no longer have the dogs, although they are being loved and cared for by family ;)

Here's to 2012 and the many changes it will bring....

I spent the last 2.5 weeks in Tennessee and I can't put into words how awesome it was to be home for that long! I probably enjoy family time more than any other person in the world!

The pictures sum up most of what I spent my time doing. I did get to frequently visit Cracker Barrel :)

I am so thankful for my family and friends! We would not be where we are today without you! You are the best! I miss everyone back home a ton and thank my friends in Seattle for all the love, kindness, and support I need!

Where did November go?

A whole month without a post, that's probably a first.

I will tell you a little about the month and hopefully post pictures soon...
November consists of Davis' birthday every year, crazy right? This year I threw him a surprise birthday party and it was awesome. He was totally surprised and had no idea way everyone popped out of our closet after a minute of him talking to me like it was just us there.

We also did Napa and San Fran for Thanksgiving, what a fantastic trip! Lots of wine and food and sleep, it was perfect ;)

Davis has been traveling a lot and I am getting ready for my last day at my current job so there's not much time to blog.

I took a kick-boxing class with the girls. We went to see Tower Heist because it was free, we also saw Immortals which I actually enjoyed. I still am dying to see Breaking Dawn! hint hint

We are going to Vancouver this weekend with the Guptas and I fly home in less than 2 weeks!!!

Haunted Camping

Davis decided that he wanted to be scared this Halloween and not the sit at home and watch a scary movie kind of scared, but in the middle of nowhere terrified in the woods scared so.....that's what we did.

We went to the Green River Gorge, this is a protected conservation area. Franklin, an old ghost town was once a hopping place and the mining shaft that once kept the economy alive was the exact spot of our camping. We hiked to the mining shaft, dropped off our gear, and went to find the metropolis of Franklin. This is what we found...

This is probably one of the scariest things I have ever done. I cannot explain why or how, but if you want to be scared go sleep in an old ghost town on Halloween weekend. I think I may have slept a total of 3 hours...yesterday I took a long nap and I still need sleep. I hope everyone's Halloween was as spooky as mine ;) Happy Halloween! Remind us that we never want to do this again next Halloween, please.

This past weekend was a busy one....

Friday night I did a show for the YWCA, where all proceeds went to Dress for Success. I scored some good deals as did Carly (the outfit she is in above was scored at this show). My phone was stolen at this event :( What a bummer!

Saturday I did an event for JGilbert and Yeardley Smith (Lisa from the Simpson's). It was the launch of her new shoe collection, and I can vouch that they are pretty fantastic. I was standing in them the entire day and crazy enough I put them back on after my feet starting hurting in another pair of heels at a wedding later that evening. That's when you know you have a comfy pair of heels! (Pics above are from this event)

Working on the East Coast

A couple of weeks ago I was working on the east coast and if you know me, you know I tried to see as much as I could. So the first morning I ran around Yale campus, the highlight was seeing their men's crew working out. We indulged in yummy Maine lobsters as much as possibly and the last day and night we went to Boston. While in Boston....

What an incredible weekend, I wish I could do it every weekend!! We went for a 3 hour sail to Blake Island, where we camped out on the boat for the night before sailing home on Sunday.

This weekend Davis and I met in TN since we were both going to be on the east coast for work. It was a wonderful short visit! I spent Friday with mom and the twins (we bowled, had froyo, and shopped at Target) before Soccer Taco with the Friday night gang (we did miss some of the crew, hopefully we will see you guys next time)! Saturday morning we went to see grandparents and mom and Greg's new condo. Its perfect and I am super excited for them, can't wait to see them living there. We then had lunch with dad, Barb, Russ, pooh, Jimmy, and Becky. It's nice to be able to see so many people in such a short visit! Dad and Barb drove us to Nashville where we spent time with Tammy, Dwayne, Daniel, and his friends. What a fun night pretending we were in college again ;)

Thanks everyone for the time and effort you put in to making our trips efficient and wonderful! We love you all!

This weekend we played tennis ball tag while sailing with the club. We had 6 boats and the object was just like regular tag to hit the boat, sail, or crew of other boats with a tennis ball. We were on a boat of 2 employees, 1 other sailor, and 4 clueless people therefore we did most the work so it was great practice! We had a great time and it was a gorgeous day!

This coming weekend we will be in TN! We will get to see the twins play football, I can't wait! I love family time! I will probably even get to enjoy some Cracker Barrel ;)

The Benson's were on my dad's heels. They arrived on Thursday before taking off on our Alaskan cruise Saturday. Since they arrived a couple days early, we were able to take them sailing and show off a bit of what we have learned this summer. It was our first overnight without an instructor and it went great...(we did sleep at the dock, shhh don't tell anyone)!

We departed for a week long cruise to Alaska and it was wonderful. I love the freedom of cruising.

So this has been an extremely crazy day! Not only did our building get broken into (not really because come to find out the door was left unlock), but the robber ditch the stuff down the road (I am guessing he/she plans on returning to reclaim sometime)....we received a call from the person whose yard contained the "hiding spot" (under a huge camo jacket) saying he had found bags of our things. So after reclaiming our goods...I am now typing from my laptop with no difficulties!

We enjoyed dinner at the Space Needle with Dad and Barb so much that we took Mom and Greg 3 weeks later. This is the first time we had ever eaten at the top and it's definitely worth it especially if you have guests visiting or new to the city!

We have had lots of company over the past month so my blogging pretty much came to a halt. My dad and Barb were first. They drove across country and ended in Seattle July 4th. We had 2 great weeks with them. What did we do? The question should be what didn't we do? The highlights of their trip include a weekend in Victoria, the Boeing plant tour, a Mariner's game, and a wonderful BBQ on the roof.

We also managed to fit in some great dad-daughter time with meals and movies.

They loved Fred's, it's our Wal-mart.

Happy anniversary! Sailing lessons were our anniversary present to each other. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We had great instructors at every level and finished all courses in a mere 3 weeks, wow that was fast! Now we are certified and I can't wait for the many adventures in our future that this has now opened. Thank you Dave!

It's summer!! Summertime = super busy and staying outdoors as much as possible. This means no time to take pictures off camera therefore you are stuck with phone pictures for now.

Since the last post we have traveled back to TN for another wedding, enjoyed quality family time, and started sailing lessons.

This is the first time the pilot has taken me over the University before landing and I was pumped! Look closely for the stadium!

It's June, the best month ever!

June is one of my favorite months, mostly because it is my birthday month! It is also the beginning of summer and I do love summer!

I have quite a bit of blogging to catch everyone up with what's been going on in June, but I will start with the most important post of my birthday!

My actual birthDAY, I spent flying....this was alright though because when I landed I was excitedly greeted by my wonderful family. It was the first time I had seen them on my birthday in 3 years! We had a delicious meal at one of my favorite Tennessee restaurants, The Chop House. I indulged in a filet mignon with a sweet potato, a glass of bubbly, and one very yummy blackberry cobbler!

We then drove to Chattanooga for a wedding weekend (another post), but continued to celebrate my birthday that night with the most awesome best friends in the world. It had been 6 months since seeing them last and as always we just picked up right where we left off. We had an awesome slumber party at the Sheraton and after my 4 shots of espresso I was good to stay up until 4 am no problem :) This was my free Starbucks drink for my birthday, yet another reason why I love my birthday!

This was a great birthday weekend! Thank you to everyone who made it a special day, I love you all!

Since we missed all of my Seattle friends on my actual birthday, we continued the celebration into this weekend by having a birthday triathlon. This included biking (for some), volleyball, bocce ball, and eating ;)

It was a beautiful day and I had a blast! Thanks to everyone who made this day special :) I foresee many more beach days in our future!

A nerdy birthday party....count me in! Friday was Michelle's scientific birthday party and it was a blast. The highlight of the night was the egg drop competition because all scientists are competitive in nature. The rules...make a vessel that will carry an egg safely on an adventurous 4 story drop from a rooftop. My idea....this was seriously an "I'm running late what can I buy on my way out the door at the market downstairs", so I bought a carton of icing and stuffed an egg in the middle!

Did it work?

NO, a lesson to all of you! Although the silver cylinder you see is full of jello and totally protected it's egg!

Time flies when you are having fun!

I can't believe it's been 4 years since we stood on the dock at the lake house and said "I Do". A lot has changed since that beautiful day. The biggest change (in our lives) being we moved to Seattle, bought a home, and started new jobs...I don't think we could have made a better decision! Starting our lives together in a new city, what an experience! We are still making new friends and learning how to live with one another. It took some time, but we finally got a life outside of ourselves and work. If I was to give anyone advice about moving to a new city, I would say "give it time".

Davis travels quite a bit and I am super lucky to have the girlfriends that I do. They have made Seattle awesome!

The crazy thing about 4 years is it ages you, I still like to consider myself 21! Davis and I are still very young at heart and not sure when or if ever we will want to "grow up".

Gowns, Gowns, and New York City

I was excited, very excited to wake up and get some work completed on Thursday morning because I was hours away from heading to the airport for a girls New York weekend! It definitely lived up to expectations, we had a blast. I am pretty sure we didn't sleep more than 5 hours a night. I guess in a city that never sleeps, you shouldn't either! The main purpose of the trip was to find a wedding dress for Hazel Grace and I can say for certain that the mission was accomplished. The wedding is not until next year so you will not get to see the dress for a long time, but it has been decided and what a relief for HG :)

Thursday night, we landed late so straight to the ACE hotel where we gladly dropped off our suitcases and went downstairs to the oh so convenient Breslin to grab a bite. I had the delicious lamb burger. The fries were served with a cumin aioli sauce and I must say that might have been the best idea ever!

Friday morning we grabbed Stumptown coffee and croissants before arriving at our first appointment. It was at Kleinfield's (boutique where Say Yes to the Dress is filmed). Long story short the first dress she tried on here is the winner!! Many dresses and rankings later we took a taxi to the West Village for brunch. After brunch we were off to find a taxi to take us to Midtown for another appointment. There were dresses tried on, but nothing compared to "the one". This put us into the late afternoon so we did a little shopping before going back to the hotel, toasting champagne, and getting ready for dinner in Tribeca. After dinner, we met up with some of HG's NY friends for drinks in Chinatown followed by drinks in Tribeca. It was a great night chatting and getting to know some of HG's oldest friends.

Saturday morning appointments started a little later so we had breakfast first at EAT. Followed by what proved to be the nicest boutique we visited, Vera Wang, where there were tons of beautiful dresses. This is where dress #2 entered the running. After Vera, we had brunch at Sarabeth's in Central Park before arriving at our last and final appointment. Another dress entered the running here, but in my opinion "the one" was still "the one"!

After an extremely long Saturday already, we went back to the ACE for a catnap. We had dinner at an awesome Mexican tapas place in Bowery, followed by drinks and karaoke. The following morning we had a guided run tour around the southern waterfront of Manhattan, which was surprisingly gorgeous and green. This was followed by an amazing brunch and shopping.

A much needed weekend away from the city...

This past week, Davis and the company had their "corporate retreat" in Woodinville. Their definition of corporate retreat means working from 7am-10pm....which was fine by me as long as I could tag along! I joined Thursday night for Cinco de Mayo dinner and stayed for the duration of the weekend. Woodinville is "wine country" in Washington, it is 40 minutes outside of Seattle. It is a small town tucked in a densely wooded area. We stayed at Willows Lodge, which might be the only place to stay. It is a cute dog friendly lodge that Beast and Belle enjoyed as well ;)

You can now sneak a peek at the race photos and there is a couple things I failed to mention in my last post about the race.

First off, Davis wore his green man suit during the race. The purpose was 2 fold really...1. I could spot him easily and 2. it would be more fun for the runners. What we didn't know was the Canucks (Vancouver's hockey team) has a green guy, view here. Soooo, the runners loved him!! They gave him lots of high fives and asked a lot of questions. To them he was the "real green guy". Since I had a goal of sub 2 hours, I had asked Davis if he would wait for me a mile from the finish line and run that last mile with me to motivate me to sprint. He graciously accepted :) Therefore he ran across the finish line with me and everyone was cheering for him, way to steal the spotlight Green guy. Just kidding, I pretended they were all yelling for me! So notice him in the pictures.

Secondly, there was a man running around the same pace as me the entire race that looked a lot like my dad and I so badly wanted to finish with him so that he would be in my picture BUT he ended up beating me and I was a little disappointed...although great for him because he was an older man! I thought no one would ever get to see him, BUT the professional photographers snapped a photo somewhere along the course that has us both in it so looked for my dad's twin too, he is behind me to the left in 1 of the pictures. Busy is an under statement for our lives right now.

I will give you the story now and pictures later. Freddo and I attended the Sounders game as greenmen or greensies(this is my terminology). This was an idea Davis and Freddo had while traveling and watching It's always sunny in Philadelphia.....click here if you are not familiar.
And yes, that is what we looked like for the entire game...this is their new business idea! Can you tell they are excited? Maybe a bit too much.

Last weekend my husband took me shopping and I bought a new pair of running shoes for the half marathon next weekend!

I also bought some new dresses for the multiple weddings we have in June. We went to see Scream 4 and it was actually pretty decent. I love days like these, thanks Dave!

My days without Davis at home are always filled with running, loving on the dogs, and plenty of girl nights! We have had many girlie movie nights filled with truffle popcorn, laughter, and cheer.

The summer is fast approaching and this means busy, busier, and busier. and I can't wait!

The Vancouver marathon is my kick off to summer! It will be followed by a girls trip to NYC, which will be awesome! This is all followed by Memorial Day, my birthday, 2 weddings in TN, Dad and Barb visit Seattle, Alaskan cruise, Greg and mom visit Seattle, Seafair weekend, and Labor day!!

Our trip continued to be one of the most interesting trips to date (and we have slept in airports, missed flights, lost luggage, the list goes on)!

When we finally made it to the cabin, we had a nightcap before hitting the hay. Without much sleep, we were up and ready to hit the slopes at 8am (that was the purpose of the trip and we had already missed a full day). We were boarding Sugar bowl. Squaw Valley was reporting a record 691 inches of snow (57.5 feet!!)!

I had never seen sooo much snow in my life. You couldn't tell where you were going, I definitely would not recognize anywhere we went in the summer. I couldn't tell you if we were on a side of a cliff. And when the wind would blow, you literally could not see directly in front of your face! It was nuts, and we weren't going to miss out. It was really wild because we are use to be able to see bumps and troughs and up there, you could forget it. One minute you were riding along and the next minute you might either be in the air or knee deep in snow.

The powder was outrageous. Some of you know that powder is easier to ski/board in because it is forgiving, but it is way HARDER to get out of after a fall (although it does feel better to fall into). Our first ride down the mountain, I fell and figured out the whole "you have to pack your own snow to get back up". I got up and boarded down the mountain a little ways before looking back only to see Davis stuck in about 3 feet of powder....this wasn't that funny until he realized there was absolutely no way he was getting out riding his board so he laid on it and tried to "surf" out. This was hysterical so I went to get my camera to video AND my pocket was unzipped...left contentless. I had lost my camera and my driver's license in who knows how many feet of powder :( I was more worried about how I was going to fly home than about not being able to video Davis at this point.

We ended up getting use to the crazy powder and got in some good run before our lunch break. While eating the wind must have picked up because they closed down almost all the lifts, what else could possibly go wrong?

We sat around in the lodge eating, drinking, and talking until they finally announced that they had opened up "The lift, aka Lincoln". This is the highest point at Sugar bowl and what everyone had been waiting on. Davis and I decided "why not?"

So up the mountain we went to approximately 8300 ft where you can't see a thing. What goes up, must come down. Down we went...we didn't make it too far before Davis was down and exhausted so being the wonderful wife that I am, I decide to take my board off to help him. He is about 20 feet away and as I take my first step to him I sink waist deep in snow! It only took that one step for us both to realize he was in this one on his own. I strapped back in my board and about 15 minutes later we were on our way back down the mountain. This was our last run!

What a day, we definitely must go back and get the normal Tahoe experience!

I think I should cut my story short. This was definitely not all the oddness of the trip but I will sum up the rest. That night was a bit of an emotional dinner, the next day we took a shuttle back to the Reno airport where we saw Rob Schneider, and I met an employee of the FAA on my flight that told me the many ways of dieing on regional aircraft. I have never been so happy to be on the ground in Seattle and at home :)

Oh Well

Seattle - Reno - Tahoe

Where to begin? This was an interesting trip, almost nothing went as planned. It started out great with free snacks and drinks in the Alaska boardroom at the Seattle airport, followed by an almost on time departure, and a beautiful snowy landing in Reno. I thought everything was going to be perfect, I had booked us a cheap night in a casino (neither of us had ever gambled) and a free shuttle the next morning to Northstar, where we would spend our first day in Tahoe snowboarding. Sounds perfect, huh?

The theme for the weekend is the title of this post "Oh Well"

The casino was nice all but smoking was allowed, yuck! "Oh well" We played the slots, had greasy food, and won about $16.

We woke up around 6:30 to catch our awesome free shuttle, which would have been awesome if they didn't cancel the route for the day because of road closures and bad conditions. Oh yea, and they didn't cancel until we were well on our way. That's right..... bags packed on the bus, had an orange to eat, and had picked up all the people at the many stops when our driver says dispatch just called and has canceled our trip we will be turning around. So now what? "Oh well"

We had already checked out of our hotel...so what else to do besides go to breakfast (at our hotel because that is where we were dropped off at), get on the internet, and find alternative transportation. We called every rental car company looking for an AWD vehicle because that was a road restriction we had to compile with, we called all the bus companies we could find online, and looked at all train routes. The results: few AWD rentals that were a little pricey, all trains canceled for the day, and it seemed like all bus companies were canceling their routes as well.

This was almost the end of hope, we were thinking about charting a helicopter! Why not at this point, it would at least be pretty. We finally got through to the last bus company after many many many calls ending with a busy signal and what do you know, they had a bus departing that afternoon. We called the hotel reservation desk from the hotel restaurant to ask if we could have our room back and a late check out time AND they said yes....things were looking a little brighter! So to the room we went to indulge in a 2 hour much needed nap, remember it is only 9 am. We had missed a day of snowboarding and our free transportation but oh well.

After waking up and having some lunch, we were off to catch our ride to the airport where we were going to catch our shuttle to Tahoe. Our ride to the airport would have been free but oh well (we missed our free ride, I am not going to go into this story as it only lengthens the story without making it better), we ended up in a taxi. We made it to the airport and hopped in the packed shuttle (WE HAD A RIDE!!).

We arrived in Truckee, a small town outside of Tahoe, 45 minutes later. Our friends weren't going to be in Truckee for another 3 hours to pick us up so what else to do besides go to the bar and not just any bar BUT the Tourist Club Bar aka the T Club. This is where we met Chris, a snow bum from Wisconsin. He was a super nice guy, he even bought us a round of shots. What a day!

After drinks, we needed more food so we headed to a highly recommended by almost everyone in the T Club sushi place called, Dragonfly. Where we met Jason, the manager, and Dave and Rio, the sushi chefs. This place was delicious, I think we had 6 rolls! And 1 of those was on the house, this goes to show that people are genuinely nice. I love meeting people! We also met some local retirees. Dave, the head sushi chef recommended we go down the street to Moody's for dessert. He recommended their s'mores. So off we went...I have failed to mention this whole time we are transporting our luggage (which consists of 3 suitcases, 2 smaller bags, and 2 snowboards) to and from each venue.

Oh my, was Moody's s'mores absolutely amazing! I think this was a perfect ending to a not so grand day :)

After a few cocktails at Moody's, our ride was finally there to pick us up....to be continued

What did you do?

HG, Hillary, Teresa, and I shared laughs and talked about education, access, homelessness, wedding plans/sites, the bachelor, scarcity, plastic surgery and our good bodies...We managed to cover all these topics in a few hours in our PJ's and it was marvelous!

We also watched an Irish movie, Waking Ned Divine, while eating soda bread, popcorn with Irish butter, and drinking Irish wine. I would suggest the movie to everyone, it was super cute and funny :)

It's halfway through March and not one post from a certain someone, yikes. An example of how busy we are...it's snowboard season and we have been 2x :(

Last weekend we celebrated Joel's birthday at a very nerdy bar. What's a "nerdy" bar you ask? It's a place that is setup with every console you can name, computers, board games, cards, and you can even bring your own games....oh yeah and it has a bar! It is called AFK Tavern, this is gamer talk for "Away for Keyboard". I had a good time and Davis had a great time :)

Sunday we had football practice for an event that was canceled because of the NFL lockout, we were suppose to play on Quest field...bummer!! After practice we indulged in pho at The Green Leaf and headed home for a much needed nap.

This past weekend...was a pretty relaxed one for us. Friday night we went out for Thai and watched a movie on the sofa. Saturday night we went out for a drink before heading to Freddo's for game night and Davis hit the airport at 5:30am Sunday morning for Long Island while I slept in of course.

This week is St. Patty's Day, don't forget to wear your green and drink a pint :)

February - it's either just a really short month or a really busy month (sorry for the lack of posts)!

I have spent much of February with the girls. We have had inspiring dinners, movie days, and a Chinese New Year's celebration. We also started a weekly swim, where we go to the local pool and get our fitness on :) I am so lucky to have so many wonderful women in my life!

Davis has been traveling quite a bit but when he has been in town we have been busy! We wnet to a Valentine's Party hosted by Ali (pictures to come) this past Saturday and we saw the Harlem Globetrotters on Sunday. Last Monday we celebrated Valentine's with happy hour and dinner at Lola's followed by a movie, popcorn, and ice cream on our sofa! It was a wonderful night!

I along with some of the girls have decided to run the Vancouver half marathon (Davis is still in the decision process) on May 1st. If anyone would like to visit and come support/run it with us, do it!

This weekend I will be dancing the night away to Madonna v Lady Gaga with the girls, followed by a day of snowboarding with Dave.

Taco Night

This week's girls night was dubbed Taco Night by Ali and I hosted. We had a blast as always! We had steak with peppers and feta tacos, Mexican chicken stew, homemade guacamole and salsa, margaritas, and of course wine (what's a girls night without wine?)

For dessert we had an avocado lime cheesecake that was delicious and super easy...Kristen made it and gave us the recipe so if you are interested here it is...

Avocado Lime Cheesecake

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups cream
3/4 cup white sugar
2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
6 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
1 (8 inch) prepared graham cracker crust

Directions

Heat the cream in a small saucepan until small bubbles appear around edges. Remove from heat and stir sugar into the cream until it dissolves. Transfer to a medium bowl, and allow to cool.
Combine the avocado and cream cheese in a food processor and blend until smooth. Add the lime juice and process until smooth, then whisk into the cooled cream mixture.
Pour into the prepared pie crust. Smooth surface with a spatula. Freeze at least 2 hours in freezer before serving.

When you run out of holidays to celebrate, what else do you do besides throw a decade party?!? Last week we hosted a 1990's theme party, this included bagel bite, mentos, lunchables, handi-snacks, rice krispie treats, Mike's Hard (which we referred to as Zima), snapple, and last but not least jello shots. We also had a wonderful 90's playlist, thanks to Davis!

Since Davis doesn't land for about another hour, I will try to catch you up on the major stuff going on around these parts.

I know I know, I am not the greatest blogger anymore. I have definitely found it difficult to post at least one a week much less more than that and I really don't want to be the once a week blogger BUT it's how things are happening so.....I will just keep trying :)

This weekend was a great one. Friday night we kicked off the weekend with a going away party for Davis and Bee(one of his co-workers at Deloitte). It was great to get to spend time with some of the Deloitte gang as we don't see them that often due to the fact that Davis travels and works from home. After having some drinks with them, we headed to the movies to see No Strings Attached and I thought it was really good BUT (warning...) I think almost all romcoms are great soooo take my movie advise with a grain of salt. After lots of popcorn and Mr. Pibb we walked home in the rain, a typical Seattle evening.

Saturday morning we enjoyed brunch at Toulouse Petit. We split a side of fried green tomatoes, I had the creole shrimp and eggs with creamy grits, and Davis had the shrimp and chicken jambalaya. It was delicious! After accomplishing some pressing errands, I headed to Margaux's for a girls dunch. It was just as amazing as brunch...we had lentil soup, chicken with kale and beans, and a delicious truffle honey cheesecake.

Girls nights are always amazing, after eating the girls headed to Black Bottle for a night cap. I went and picked up Dave from a friend's and took him to Black Bottle with me. We enjoyed more conversation with the girls before heading home and hitting the hay.

Davis flew out Sunday at 7am, poor guy. I am sure he slept great last night!

This is his first week traveling at his new job!

What's Going On

Last Saturday we went snowboarding and I didn't take my camera for once so no pictures, but don't fret I am sure we will probably be back on the slopes this weekend. After coming off the mountain, we took our dogs to a play date class for small dogs. Since being attacked over a year ago, Belle still does not like bigger dogs so we thought small dog play time would be just GREAT for her. And I think it went well beyond both of our expectations, she did great. She actually left our feet and smelled other dogs.....and she actually played!!! This was a HUGE step for her.

Sunday we played ultimate frisbee in the snow, that's dedication or just ignorance (we had no clue it was suppose to snow)! Of course it didn't last 2 hours before it was all gone.

Another week passing......

This weekend..... we hung out with friends over coffee, we played games, ran errands (took lots to goodwill), bought a mattress (it gets delivered Tuesday and I am sooo excited!!), and took Viv to the Pacific Science Center (pictures to follow).

Every year fireworks are shot off of the Space Needle in NYE and we have yet to see this since we have moved to Seattle....you would think why how is this possible considering you live right next to the Needle?!?

The first NYE spent in Seattle we were both miserably sick...I am not even sure I was awake at midnight (I think this might have been the first time in my adult life). Needless to say, it was not a grand first NYE in Seattle. Last year we went to a restaurant with live music with some friends. It was a good night.

I kept hearing from people that the Space Needle fireworks were amazing so I told Davis no matter what we did this year we had to be able to see the fireworks...this is not a hard task as we can see them from our roof! Things worked out perfectly because our neighbors hosted a Japanese themed NYE party at their place and we watched the fireworks from the warmth of their home. The fireworks were great and I am not that into fireworks, but I was impressed. We have a video that one day I might share with you.

This themed party included sake, sushi, and of course karaoke. We had a blast, I think Davis could have sang all night!!

This was the first year since we moved to Seattle that we have gone back to TN for the holidays and it was a great one!! We are so busy every time we go home and the holidays just added to it, but it was sooo worth every minute of lost sleep. Apparently there are only 5 cities in the states with indoor trapeze and Seattle just so happens to be 1 of the 5! Saturday Davis and I decided to try it out and it was such a rush!! I was a nervous wreck, I am not the greatest with heights but I had a blast!

Because it's been forever and Ankur was in town we had a game night! And it was a great and extremely long night....I think I got to bed at 5am so I had almost been awake for 24 hours....game nights are sooo much harder with a FT job. I did take a 3 hour nap today ;0

Girls Night

Girls night is awesome every week but I don't always take my camera because I am sure you guys would get tired of the same pictures, but 2 weeks ago instead of having girls night in...we had girls night out. HG had $150 in gift cards to Black Bottle and we used every bit of them, it was delicious and soooo much food. Thanks so much HG for sharing the gift cards with us girls and letting us have a free girls night out :)

Dogs & Christmas

Davis' mom sent the dogs a package this week and since we will not be here on Christmas, they got to open it early. And boy did they love their new squeaky toys!!! This picture Beast has the new Santa and Belle is following in half her new outfit....they also got a snowman but for some reason they always want what the other has so they pretty much only play with one at a time!

Jingle Bell 5K

Last Sunday morning we participated in the Jingle Bell 5K with some of my girlfriends and had brunch after at Alli's. Yes, this was the weekend that Seattle had a torrential downpour and was flooding and yes we ran in it! Although we were soaked it was good to get out and do it...and it was for a great cause, arthritis.

Davis was only willing to get up and run in the rain because brunch was on the other side :)

HG's Holiday Party

Last weekend was Hazel Grace and Jed's holiday party and it was a blast. Davis got to meet all my girl friends and we both were able to meet new people as well. I went down to HG's early to help prepare food and decorate....this is how everything turned out.

The Holidays

This is such a busy time so this post will not include pictures but will update you a little on what's going on in our lives.

Tonight we are going to HG's holiday party.

Tomorrow morning we are running the Jingle Bell 5K with all the girls and then having brunch afterwards at Alli's. Tomorrow night is the homeowner's holiday party for the building.

This is the amount of days that will pass before we are in TN. In 15 short days I will get to see my family and I can't wait! This will be our first Christmas back in TN and it makes me giddy thinking about it....I only wish I could stay longer :)

I hope everyone gets to be with their family, it truly makes a difference.

I love long weekends especially when they involve traveling!

One of the perks of my job is free turkeys for Thanksgiving (odd I know), but we couldn't waste it soooo at 7pm Wednesday night I started cooking my 13 lb turkey.

Since we were going to be on a bus for 6 hours the next day and it was Thanksgiving, we took some turkey with us and had turkey for lunch on Turkey Day! Thanks Vaupell

After leaving Whistler, we made a pit stop in Vancouver for the night. It was our friend, Mary's, birthday and it was a great ending to a perfect weekend!

A short version of what I am thankful for: my loving husband who always makes me laugh, my wonderful family (I miss you all more than you know), my job (I finally got one and I love it), my dogs because they are super cute and keep me company while the husband travels, my house, and last but certainly not least all of my friends. I could go on but this is the short list!

Today was exhausting, we were one of the first people on the gondola at 8am when they opened and the only break we took was for lunch. It was a great day with lots of snow, the base is already 120 cm deep!! That's pretty awesome. We definitely had our fair share of brutal falls but nothing terrible, although we will be sore. After boarding all day we headed to the hot tub in the snow, what a great atmosphere! We head out tomorrow afternoon and will be spending the night in Vancouver with friends, I love holidays and long weekends ;)

We made it, and luckily we rode the bus because we would have never made it in the Camry. It snowed almost our entire trip and we are guessing there is somewhere around 8 inches in the village. It's absolutely beautiful :) Our hotel is super cute and we have a fireplace, I love fireplaces. We had a Mongolian dinner in the village, but don't worry we did have turkey for lunch so we still had the American traditional Thanksgiving meal, kinda it was on a bus with pepperjack cheese and saltine crackers BUT it was yummy! We went to the grocery store and stocked up on foods to revitalize our bodies after tomorrow's all day workout. And now we are back in the room drinking none other than Crown and DP's....I did have a cup of hot cocoa first. I love hot chocolate while in PJs with snow outside :)
